The HI 23151 replaces EC 215R and features a large, easy to read LCD, solution holders and an attractive redesigned case. The HI 23151 utilizes a four ring potentiometric probe with platinum sensor that offers greater versatility and accuracy over typical amperometric designs. A potentiometric probe works on the principal of induction which eliminates the effects of polarization ( a common problem of amperometric systems) . Two outer rings apply an alternating voltage and induce a current loop in the solution while two inner rings measure the voltage drop induced by the current loop ( which is dependent on the conductivity of the solution) . By utilizing the 4-ring method, it is possible to measure very low to high conductivity levels ( up to 200 mS/ cm) without changing probes. The temperature coefficient correction is adjustable from 0 and 2.5% / ° C. Manual calibration - This simple to use feature allows the HI2315 Bench-Top Conductivity Meter to be calibrated to any value within the measurement ranges ( 0.0 to 199.9 µ s/ cm; 0 to 1999 µ s/ cm; 0.00 to 19.99 ms/ cm; 0.0 to 199.9 ms/ cm) It is also less expensive than models with auto-calibration. Manual adjustable temperature correction coefficient ( ß = Beta) - This simple to use feature allows for different temperature correction coefficients to be used based on the sample being tested. It is adjustable from 0-2.5% / ° C. Automatic Temperature Compensation - This helps provide the HI 23151 with higher accuracy since conductivity is very sensitive to temperature variations. Large LCD - The new, larger LCD is bright and easy to read. Built-in Solution Holders - The HI 23151 has solution holders built into the casing.
